SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 7, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Highland Events, the nation's leading event planning company specializing in the curation of premium cannabis experiences at mainstream music events and concerts, announced a new partnership with Outside Lands Music Festival. The festival, which is held in Golden Gate Park every year, will now feature a cannabis-friendly area which will provide education, culinary treats, a farmer's market, botanical terpene experience, confectionary, lemonade stand, flower shop, and much more.
Named "Grass Lands," the cannabis experience at the Outside Lands festival will feature information, experiences, shopping opportunities as well as food and beverages. While no THC or CBD products will be available for sale at the festival, on-site experts will help visitors learn more about the many cannabis products available on the market, which can be instantly ordered for fast and convenient home delivery.
Salwa Ibrahim, COO of Highland Events, said that her team has been working with the founders of Outside Lands for months to bring all the elements together.
"Outside Lands is the pinnacle of music festivals, and we're thrilled to create this partnership at such a crucial inflection point in the cannabis industry," Ibrahim said. "The event committee has been instrumental in making this activation a reality, and we're excited to expand the program in the years to come."
Martin Kaufman, co-founder of Highland Events, said that there will be an increased demand for properly permitted, legal and compliant cannabis at major events.
"This partnership paves the way for future endeavors and sets the standard for incorporating legally-sanctioned cannabis at large-scale events, concerts and festivals," he said.
Kaufman, who is also a licensed cannabis concessioner, said that he applauds the principles of Outside Lands, who have been "forward thinking and exceptional partners."
"Outside Lands is always exploring different ways to create unique and memorable festival experiences," said Rick Farman, co-founder of Superfly, a co-producer of Outside Lands. "With recreational marijuana now legal in California, we've seen tremendous growth in the cannabis health and lifestyle community and we wanted to engage these individuals with meaningful products and services at the festival."
Highland Events provides a pathway for producers of major music festivals to integrate legal cannabis into their events. The company utilizes its vast expertise in regulations and compliance, as well as its proprietary methodologies, to create upscale, one-of-a-kind cannabis experiences that complement an event's demographics and style.
